KUALA LUMPUR – “ASWAQ”
In conjunction with the Holy Month of Ramadan, InstitutJantung Negara (IJN) hosted a breaking fast treat for the media and its corporate partners at the Best Western Premier, DuaSentral, Kuala Lumpur. This event was organized on the intention of introducing IJN’s new Chief Operating Officer (CEO), Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azhari Yakub.
Dr Mohd Azhari Yakob, the new Chief Executive Officer of IJN was officially appointed on July 1, 2014 replacing Tan Sri Dato ‘Sri Dr Robaayah Zambahariwhos contract expired. Thehonored guests attended the event are Dr. Mary Wong, Chief Executive Officer,
Malaysian Healthcare Tourism Council (MHTC), Mr. Mohamad Azlan, CEO of the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) and Mr. Zulkefli Hamzah, Assistant Editor of Utusan Malaysia. Also attended the ceremony from the media are, TV3, Karangkraf Magazine Group, The Straits Times, The Star, NSTP and Publishing. Representing the corporate partners who also attended areYayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Maybank, Yayasan 1MDB, Felda and PM Care.
The event started off with the recitation of doa by IJN’s staff. The evening continued with the breaking of fast where the guests indulged in varieties of Malay cuisine prepared by Best Western’s Hugo at 6before heading for the Maghrib prayers.
“IJN is caring, we have done a lot of awareness campaigns, however, this effort requires the cooperation the media to support our efforts in promoting awareness in heart disease.”, said Dr. Mohd Azhari Yakub during his welcoming speech at the event.
Dr. Mohd Azhari Yakubalso added that his mission in the new office is to increase awareness about heart disease and make IJN as the main reference for heart disease, so that more lives can be saved.
During the event, the guests were entertained by the performancefrom contemporary group called Mania. The event then continued with lucky draw session as a gift for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
InstitutJantung Negara(IJN) was set up in 1992 and is dedicated to the management and treatment of heart diseases by providing cardiology, paediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery services for adults and children.
Today, IJN is reckoned to be among the best medical centres for cardiovascular and thoracic care in Malaysia and the region. IJN has kept abreast with the latest medical advances, from handling a simple hole in the heart surgery to heart and lungs transplantations.
