The Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (MATRADE) had organized the Malaysia Services Exhibition (MSE) 2013 in Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq on the 28th – 31st October 2013, with a total of 17 participating Malaysian companies and 32 business representatives.
Malaysia was one of the major exhibitors at Project Iraq 2013 that has doubled its participation compared to the show’s last year edition. This year, the Malaysian pavilion included 17 companies from oil & gas, and construction sectors. “All the companies participated under the umbrella of the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE),” said the Senior Trade Commissioner in the commercial section of the Malaysian Consulate General in Dubai Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz.
Talking about future projects in Iraq and its north region, the Malaysian Trade Commissioner said that next year his country would encourage more companies from various economic sectors to take part in this exhibition. “When the KRG’s Minister of Construction and Housing paid a visit to our pavilion, he urged Malaysian companies to get more involved in the reconstruction efforts of his country. And this gives us confidence that we can be part of this developing market,” he added.
Malaysia has exported USD300 million of goods to Iraq last year.
